What makes Kindergarten at St. Paul an exciting place to learn and grow?

St. Paul is a loving, family friendly school with a Christ-centered atmosphere. Kindergarten is an amazing year for growth in all areas of development; including spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. Here your child will explore many learning methods to fit their own growing process, and they will be challenged at their individual level. We do not mold your child into a curriculum, but we mold our curriculum to your child. We allow our students to be children, while creating a safe and independent environment for them to grow.

Our Superkids reading curriculum introduces children to several fun characters. These characters help to teach children the letters and sounds. Soon, the children are blending those sounds to read words, then sentences, and finally short stories. The Superkids program is a fun and interactive way to provide a solid foundation in language arts.

The Saxon math curriculum presents a variety of concepts throughout the year. This includes identifying and writing numbers 1 – 30, telling time, identifying and counting money, sorting, graphing, identifying and creating patterns, counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s, identifying even and odd numbers, adding, subtracting, and measuring. Our classrooms are equipped with a variety of math manipulatives, so that all of these concepts are introduced through hands-on activities. These skills are reinforced regularly to ensure mastery.

Our schedule provides time daily for science and social studies, as well. The Building Blocks science curriculum centers around the children being actively involved in the learning process. Throughout the year, the students explore topics such as motion and the forces that make things move, investigating and observing plants and animals, and studying weather and the sky. During social studies, the children learn about the importance of rules, how to make friends, and how to get along with others. We also cover themes including Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and President's Day.

In Kindergarten, your child will enjoy special classes including art, Spanish, computer, and physical education. These classes help to enrich the school day, broaden abilities, and expand on individual student’s gifts and talents.

We would love to have the opportunity to tell you more about this exciting program!
